Customer Review: This is by far the best book for the novice and experienced smoke chef ever as far as I'm concerned. It gives a lot of tips and recipes for about anything you would ever think of putting in a smoker. It is an easy read with lot of information.
Customer Review: I've had this book for a few years now so I have had a chance to follow its recommendations and make many of the recipes in it. I'd give the book a below average score because you will really not learn much about smoking. They don't discuss the myriad of ways one can cook ribs and BBQ and there's an... more info
Customer Review: This book touches on some general recipes...but not much in the way of
specifics. A little chicken, some beef, some pork, etc. Not too bad...although, for me, I got more info from books such as
"BBQ USA", "The Barbecue! Bible" & "Better Homes And Gardens New Grilling

Customer Review: Hey why do you buy a recipe book. The recipes! This has them... Bunches of them. Sure sometimes a picture is good to show you how a fancy dish is to be presented, but hey we all know how to present a slab of ribs - right! Great list of rubs, sauces and short explanations. The only BBQ book... more info
Customer Review: I have been a BBQ fanatic for over 30 years. I have thousands of recipes and took over 20 years to perfect my sauce. Boy, I wish this book would have come out years ago. While I have enjoyed the process I think of all the hogs that died in vain while I figured out by trial and error what Mike... more info
Customer Review: Chocked full of "how to" information and recipes. On my initial read through the book, I thought Mr. Kirk's ego came across as slightly inflated. However, knowing of his accomplishments in the BBQ world and after tasting some of his recipes, I have added this to my "must have" list of BBQ books that... more info
Customer Review: Evidently Raichlen aludes to another book on ribs and this book does not repreat much of what went before. This book is short on info about Pork spare ribs which I consider to be RIBS. The rest including baby back ribs may be nice, but when I see a book with the title of RIBS, RIBS, RIBS I expect... more info
Customer Review: I'm an avid cookbook collector and reader and I never get tired of reading Raichlen; not to mention reproducing his recipes. I made the Tex-Mex Tequila-Jalapeno Wet Rub for a birthday party I was assisting with. I boiled the extra rub and served it on the side. Forget about seconds, try thirds and... more info
Customer Review: The recipes are honest and simple enough for every level of BBQ er's. Have used a few recipes so far. My husband, with his new super grill, and I are both extremely happy with this item.
We are going to purchase additional copies for family and friends. Experts or not.
Customer Review: First of all I have to say that I own all four of Dr. BBQ's Cookbooks. The recipes are fantastic and the directions are easy to follow. Dr. BBQ doesn't care what you cook on his recipes work for just about any cooker you might own. The Stories in Road Trip are a great read by themselves. The wealth... more info
