Good for watching movies
Wow there is a lot of negative reviews on here. I had to write in. I bought my PS3 when they first came out about 2 years ago, and I have loved it ever since. I never had this remote as I thought it was just a waste of money. But this past Christmas my parents wanted to get a Blu-ray player and finally decided on the PS3, and they bought this remote. For those that complain about no On/Off button...
This is a great remote. Feels great in your hand, the most used buttons are big and easy to access. I saw alot of reviews with people complaining about no power button. I'm not sure what the big deal is. This is more of a glorified/reshaped PS3 controller. To power on the PS3, just press the Playstation button on the remote. Way better to use with movies than the regular PS3 controller
Without getting into many details, think of this as a regular remote you use to watch movies, all the basic functionalities are there (play, stop, pause, fwd, eject, etc) and plus, you get the colored buttons that so far a few movies have used for extra content or bookmarking. this is a great accessories for those PS3 owners who enjoy watching blu ray dvds in addition to the games that they play. the remote has a great layout, with one deception: no power button that said the remote CAN turn on the console by pushing the PS button like you would on regular controller. my only beef is that it connects via bluetooth which means that those people (me included) who use logitech harmony style and other hi-end remote will not be able to program there remote to control the console and... more info
