Excellent - no hassle smoker
I've owned the OBS for about a momth now and have smoked all kinds of meat. It's so simple and easy that I know I will be using it far more frequently than a standard smoker just because it's easy. I'm able to run it on my deck without worry of torching the house since it cooks with electric element.
One of the cons of this product as I was researching it is that you have to buy Bradley's wood chips (biscuits) to use in the feeder mechanism and the cost associated with that. I don't see that as a... more info
my first smoker
I have wanted to buy a smoker since last year but could not decide on which one. I originally thought I wanted charcoal, then gas but I decided on the electric. I am so glad I did. It is definatly a lazy mans smoker. I only have had it for a week but I used it 4 times and I love it. I made Wings and my guests have said that it was the best wings they have ever had. The meat fell off the bone. The main reason I bought it was for Sunday Footbal games. I usually have about 8 people over and this will fit... more info
This smoker is NOT reliable and does not work
I bought my smoker 6/14/08 and it worked twice and has since not worked. The company has sent me replacement parts for me to disassemble my smoker and replace the parts on several occasions and still it does not work. If my company produced a $440 oven and it did not work in the first week a consumer used it I would WANT that oven back in my shop to figure out WHY so it would never happen again. NOT BRADLEY!!!! Apparently their reputation is NOT important to them. IT SHOULD BE EMBARRASSING to Bradley to... more info
Smoking made elementary but will never crisp the skin.
I have one and I love it. Its effortless with the smallest amount of maintenance so far, just keeping that box clean and free of debris is the most youll have to do. As for the smoke, the flavor is spot on. When it comes to smoking birds, youll never get the thing up high enough to crisp the skin like a charcoal smoker. Yes sometimes a smoker wants high temps. This little baby will never do it, not on its own. But when it comes to cold smoking or smoking at 220ish to 240, this baby cant be beat for the ease... more info
