Whether a minor household emergency calls the chef away from duty or the grill heats up with unusual speed, blackened hot dogs and charred veggie kabobs happen. Thus the barbecue aficionado must do his or her best to show vigilance over the open flame, keeping the eyes on the juicy, tender prize. The barbecue specialists at Weber recognize the need for visibility in grilling and the overall poor quality of built-in barbecue lights. To combat these challenges, Weber created their Grill Out handle light.
The handle light features water- and heat-resistant nylon housing, reinforced with glass for increased durability. Three LED bulbs illuminate the grill, activated by a tilt-switch sensor when the grill lid rises. A manual on/off button also ignites the light. The LED bulbs shine for a lengthy 10,000-hour lifetime while three AAA batteries power the light for approximately 20 hours. Weber designed the handle light for Weber Genesis and Summit grill models, though the two included mounting brackets also may accommodate other grills with circular thermoplastic or round stainless-steel handles. Does just what you expect
A little tricky to put together, but once we got thru it, it was easy to use and gives you just enough light to see what you are doing. We've got a lot of bugs at night, so this is much better than turning on the big over head light so we don't attract all those bugs.
Works Great
I love this product. It is a definite must if you grill after it gets dark outside. The fact that it turns itself off when you put the lid down is a great feature.
I would highly recommend it.
Great BBQ accessory
Lights up the whole grill space. Easy to install and remove for battery changing. Mine gets some water in it if it rains but so far it doesn't seem to have done any damage. I plan to take it off for the winter since I lost my last light that way.
Beats a flashlight
You get an instruction page that about 30" x 30" but in English each step is about one line and in very small print. The first step is to put in the batteries - good luck doing it based on the instructions "Insert batteries" with a picture showing where they go. The problem is you have to turn a dial type button to get to the opening - and when you twist it nothing happens, I couldn't get it off. I finally had to get a pliers to twist and pull it off.
