For the serious outdoor chef who wants to cook it all on one grill, Weber's D6 grill has a full 57,600 BTU primary burner, a commercial-grade side burner, a smoker box with dedicated smoker burner, and a rotisserie attachment for roasting poultry. Six rust-resistant stainless steel burners run the length of the cookbox for even heating without hot or cold spots. Infinitely-adjustable burner valves let you cook with direct or indirect heat, while a spacious 902 square inches of total cooking area provides enough room to cook for even the biggest groups. A 12,000-BTU side burner cooks side dishes and sauces while meat grills, and the dedicated smoker burner heats a stainless steel box designed to hold wood chips for authentic "low-and-slow" barbecue-style cooking. The infrared rotisserie burner radiates even heat to meats placed on the stainless steel rotisserie attachment powered by a heavy-duty 110-volt motor. To get you cooking, an electronic Crossover ignition system lights all burners in succession with the push of a button.

Built to last, the grill's stainless steel hood features double-wall construction, adding a layer of insulation to trap heat and protect against discoloration. Rugged, weather-resistant wheels are crack-proof in the most extreme temperatures and allow easy transport, while locking casters prevent the grill from rolling while you cook. Burners even have screens to keep spiders from spinning combustible webs inside.

The propane-fueled Summit Platinum D6 also comes loaded with extras including: a fixed commercial-grade thermometer, three sturdy tool holders and a roomy storage area with stainless steel doors and a heavy-gauge steel bottom shelf. One removable and two swing-up work surfaces offer plenty of space to spread out sauces, marinades, utensils and other prep essentials; they're made from granite-look Thermoset with stainless steel inserts for maximum durability, heat and weather resistance, and ease of cleaning. Weber's patented Flavorizer bars eliminate flare-ups caused by lava rocks and ceramic briquets--so fats and juices hit the angled bars and sizzle away, adding delicious, smoky barbecue flavor instead of flames. A convenient warming rack keeps already-cooked foods warm or toasts hamburger buns, while the warm-up basket is perfect for grilling easily-burned foods such as fish or vegetables. Finally, when the barbecue's over, a slide-out bottom tray funnels grease into a removable catch pan for quick and easy clean-up.

Best of all, ten fasteners are all that's needed to put this grill together, meaning you'll go from box to barbecue in less than 40 minutes. The Summit Platinum D6 measures 62-1/2 inches tall, 68 inches wide, and 34-1/2 inches deep. A propane tank must be purchased separately. This item has a limited, lifetime warranty, and is made in the USA. --Mary Park

  • Get em while they are hot.......
The D-6 Platinum line has been replaced by the S-6 series. Notice the lower price on the new line vs the old one? Notice the lighter weight?
The all 304 steel has been replaced by a prettier version with more bling steel which covers the painted from. LOok at the back of the grill and its now painted panels.
Don't get me wrong, the new grill mechanically is the same and in a way they "Made" it look more like a $2000 grill should look, but its not the same. Weber has a problem I think cracking the... more info

  • This Grill Is Awesome!
My wife and I have a vacation cottage business. Consequently, we own several grills. This grill is awesome and very popular with our customers. With 6 burners, it does use a bit more gas than smaller grills, so we always keep an extra propane tank on hand. We would definitly purchase this again.

  • Fantastic for all types of cooking
This unit is well-built, will last, and is easy to use. Assembly is a breeze. We have had it almost two years and it performs superbly in all types of cooking-- it heats up quickly (and gets HOT!), yet the flames can be turned way down and never blow out. We use it several times a week and a propane canister lasts about three to four weeks. Of course, if you turn all its mighty burners on and leave 'em that way, it'll eat a lot of propane. But that kind of usage would quickly cremate anything you might be... more info

  • A Weber should be better
I've had an old Weber for 15 years - still works well! However, as it was getting too small for my growing needs and starting to show its age, I "upgraded" to this model.
The new one has more bells and whistles - I do love the smoking burner/box combo. The rest of the features are nice too. However, this thing is almost impossible to get to 500 degrees to sear a steak or do some other high-temp cooking! It runs through a tank of propane in just a couple of serious days of cooking and once you're at... more info
