The regulator ensures that fuel safely travels from the tank through the grill, preventing any leaks or mishaps. This kit fits several Weber liquid propane grills, including the Free Spirit 500 and 700, Genesis models 1000 through 5000, and the Platinum I and II models. The kit contains a standard 22-inch, rubber hose. The regulator features a large, plastic knob that users manually screw counterclockwise onto QCC1 connection style tanks for a factory seal. Affixing the regulator to the tank requires absolutely no tools, while use of articles such as a screwdriver may cause damage. When attached properly, users may notice a gentle whistle or a hum as a result of the full tank, barometric pressure, or humidity. An air vent on the regulator also releases a hissing sound as air circulates. Such sounds are absolutely normal unless accompanied by the scent of gas. Grill owners in rural environments or with pets may opt to purchase a wire hose guard to prevent animals from chewing through the hose. A detailed manual assists users with kit assembly and safety tips. --Jessica Reuling

Replacement Regulator
This is the proper replacement that I looked for everywhere, and once again, Amazon came to the rescue. I used the quick-connector from the old regulator so that I do not need to change out both of the propane tanks that I have. If necessary in the future, I can use the newer style, but at this time the tanks can still be refilled. The handling of my order is typical for Amazon and its affiliates: prompt and seamless.

Excellent replacement Weber regulator
This is a genuine Weber part and replaced a 14 year old regulator whose hose was eaten through by an animal. It seems to have additional safety shutoff features and is easier to connect to the tank than the original (no tools required; just hand tighten). My grill is the Weber 3000, and installation was easy once I got the plate with the burner knobs off. I had to use pliers to pull out the plastic fasteners that hold the plate to the grill. Once the plate was removed it was just a matter of unscrewing the... more info
