NO KITCHEN SHOULD BE WITHOUT
What a great product!!! We use ours weekly at least! For one steaming food is a very health alternative to other ways of cooking and this does the job very well and the fact that it can stack allows you to cook twice as much with just one unit. It also cooks rice for you in a breeze and comes with the container to cook it in. The only con is it can be hard to clean if you don't clean it right away.

I really wanted a steamer! So when I received this one for Christmas, I was so excited. Until, that is, I examined it further. It's made w/ a #7 plastic (usually polycarbonate), commonly found in
baby bottles, microwave ovenware, eating utensils, and plastic coating for metal cans.
Reason why it's BAD: Made with biphenyl-A, a chemical invented in the 1930s in search for synthetic estrogens. A hormone disruptor. Simulates the action of estrogen when tested in human breast cancer studies.... more info

I use this mostly as a rice cooker and it is fantastic. I have used it to cook 2 1/2 cups of rice (dry) and I don't know if I would put much more in there. Because it is a steamer it can also cook sticky rice which is the reason I purchased this model, I wanted the ability to cook rice and to use the steam feature for sticky rice. I have used it to steam vegetables as well. The nice thing about it is that clean up is simple, you set the machine and can walk away and do other things without having to monitor... more info
